Welcome to Pilates! Within these pages there is lots
of information about Pilates, but if you do have any questions, please
do feel free to call or email.
Power of Pilates matwork classes run continuously in
blocks of 7 weeks and you are welcome to join at any point within the 7
weeks with a pro rata payment. Matwork classes focus on a series of
movements incorporating strength, flexibility and mobility. The
exercises are progressive and safe, allowing you to work at your own
pace with an emphasis on technique and individual progress.
Beginners are encouraged to join a Mixed Ability
class which provides an ideal environment for you to become familiar
with Pilates as it caters for all abilities. There are often several
other beginners within your class and you are encouraged to work at your
own level of fitness and ability.
If you are a complete beginner to Pilates, starting
Pilates on the advice from a medical professional, or just a little
daunted by joining a new class, I would recommend the Beginners
Induction Class or an Introductory 1:1 alongside, or prior, to your
course.
Beginners Induction Class
The induction class is a one off class held every 4-6 weeks at our
studio. I would recommend anyone who is new to Pilates to take this
class – either prior to joining, or alongside your Mixed Ability course.
The induction is designed to allow you enjoy and understand the basics
with others of exactly the same level and as everybody is new there is no pressure to keep up and we can take
our time and explain things as much as you like. You are then able to
enjoy any of our other classes with some knowledge and understanding of
the basics without feeling like a fish out of water!
